Blackwax, or Luke and Ross as their mums know them, are a production duo from London / Edinburgh. I first discovered Blackwax through their Bleep Competition mix which i’m listening back to as I write this post. Fresh from university they have been only producing together since August of last year and their productions have already been receiving support from artists such as Dark Sky, Om Unit, Canblaster, Brodinski, Last Japan and loads more.

Their debut EP is dropping in June on Tube10 records and will feature the tracks Airway & Surface. Blackwax teamed up with producer Hostage to create a track called Rockabilly Riddim which is now available as a free download on their Soundcloud and has found it way in to most of my sets recently.

It often gets said that an act is “one to watch” but Blackwax truly deserve that title.
